In appreciation of their exceptional efforts to keep the area clean over the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has offered a cash incentive of Rs 10,000 for each sanitation worker participating in the Suthra Punjab Program.

Suthra Punjab Initiative: Latest Update 

With the support of a vast fleet of 36,000 vehicles, heavy gear valued at Rs 30 billion, and drones for surveillance, more than 130,000 to 180,000 sanitation personnel toiled diligently throughout Punjab’s cities and rural areas as part of this project. Safe City cameras tracked the removal of over 110,000 tons of sacrificial trash from streets, mosques, cemeteries, and public areas on the first day of Eid alone. 

In order to encourage appropriate disposal, the province local government also provided between 12 and 15 million biodegradable garbage bags via union councils, helplines, and camps. In order to improve public satisfaction and hygiene, streets and markets were also extensively cleaned and disinfected with phenyl spray and rosewater.
